shared field studio llc is owned by artist, builder and naturalist Austen Camille.
Currently based in rural northwest Connecticut, Camille travels throughout the US for project-based work. Between moving homes, moving schools and moving around the world as a child, Camille grew up in their grandmother’s hardware store and garden center. This push/pull between motion and grounded-ness, adaptability and the desire to plant a garden, informs their practice today.
Camille is a graduate of Reed College (BA) and Temple University (MFA).
shared field studio is a public art studio that exists at the intersection of art, environment, and built space.
We have created work in collaboration with private landscaping companies, national non-profits, nature preserves, and state agencies.
The emphasis is always on sustainability, regenerative practices, supporting local businesses and makers, and imagination.
