who we are
shared field studio llc is owned by artist, builder and naturalist Austen Camille.
Currently based between Alvin, TX, and the Hudson Valley, NY, Camille travels throughout the US for project-based work. Between moving homes, moving schools and moving around the world as a child, Camille grew up in their grandmother’s hardware store and garden center. This push/pull between motion and grounded-ness, adaptability and the desire to plant a garden, informs their practice today.
Camille is a graduate of Reed College (BA) and Temple University (MFA).

shared field studio llc is a public art studio that exists at the intersection of art, environment, built space and technology.
We have created work in collaboration with private landscaping companies, national non-profits, nature preserves, and state agencies.
Recent projects include the implementation of augmented reality in order to engage diverse audiences through expanded storytelling. The emphasis is always on sustainability, regenerative practices, supporting local businesses and makers, and imagination.
